Biography

Sasheen is a dynamic producer, writer and executive with 25 years of experience developing and managing complex productions. Named a Wayfinder Foundation Fellow, Sasheen shines a spotlight on many of the crises facing our communities through the power of television and spearheaded the initiative “Ground Zero: Narratives on Homelessness”, in an effort to change the depiction of the homeless in the media. Producing thought-provoking documentaries, talk shows, scripted series, and live events, Sasheen has worked with such notables as Prince, LA Phil Conductor Gustavo Dudamel, Hillary Rodham Clinton, actor/director Robert Duvall, director Jonathan Demme, and singer/songwriter Annie Lennox.

Sasheen is a member of the Producers Guild of America and pens the column “Open Doors” in Produced By magazine, focusing on issues of diversity & inclusion. As Co-Chair of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) Power of Diversity Master Workshop, Sasheen is responsible for the implementation of the PGA’s flagship diversity initiative. During her term, participants’ success rate increased from 60% to 100% in securing funding, representation, and/or employment. Moreover, Sasheen was invited by HRH Princess Rym Ali and the Royal Film Commission to lead a week-long seminar for creative professionals in Amman, Jordan, where Sasheen taught pitching, story development, budgets & schedules, and marketing. Sasheen has served as a moderator, panelist or guest speaker for the PGA Producers on Producing series, the Pan African Film Festival Institute, the Black Women in Entertainment Brunch, and the FilAm (Filipino American) Creative Group of Los Angeles. Additionally, Sasheen has participated in think tanks for Biola University School of Cinema & Media Arts and the USC Norman Lear Center Hollywood, Health & Society.

Sasheen is also a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.  She is originally from New York City and earned her BA in Psychology from Stanford University.
